Frequently Asked Questions
QUESTION:
Are these items really from the studios and networks?
ANSWER:
Absolutely. We’re the only auction site that can claim our items come directly from
the studios and networks that produced the movie or show. When your item arrives, you
can be sure that it came from the set to your door.
QUESTION:
So you can prove they’re real?
ANSWER:
We’ll provide you with a signed Certificate of Authenticity for every item we auction. We
also post it on the item’s bidding page to assure you from the first moment you see it
that it is 100% real. We can do this because we conduct auctions on behalf of studios
and networks. We do not buy anything from a third party.

HOW TO BID
QUESTION:
I saw something I love. How do I bid on it?
ANSWER:
It’s simple. Sign up or log in. Find the item or items. Type in the amount you’d like to bid
and hit Bid Now.
QUESTION:
How will I know if someone has outbid me?
ANSWER:
We’ll send you an email right away so you can place a new bid.
QUESTION:
Can I set up the computer to bid for me?
ANSWER:
In a way. You can set a maximum amount you are willing to bid on an item, and if
someone outbids you, the computer will rebid for you, but only to that max amount. No
one else knows that you have a max bid. They will only know that they have been
outbid.
QUESTION:
How will I know if I’ve won the auction?
ANSWER:
You can watch as the auction closes, which we recommend, so you can make sure to
place any necessary bids before the end. Or we will email as soon the auction closes.
QUESTION:
When does an auction close?
ANSWER:
When a high bid is placed that no one else has surpassed. We don’t do timed auctions
like some sites. While we do have an end time for an auction, we will keep it live until a
high bid is reached that no one else will outbid bid. We give everyone one minute to
make a another bid after a new high bid has been established. We’ve seen two people
bid back-and-forth for 15 minutes until one person quit bidding. It was very exciting!
QUESTION:
Can I attend a live ScreenBid auction?
ANSWER:
All our auctions are online. This allows our auctions to be open to everyone with an
internet connection.
QUESTION:
Do the wardrobe sizes match what I typically find in a store?
ANSWER:
Yes-ish. The one thing to remember is some of these were tailored to the actor or
actress who wore them. So it might be a medium, but it might also have been taken in
or let out somewhere.
QUESTION:
I won!
ANSWER:
Not a question, but we get you. Congrats! Here’s what happens next. You’ll get an
email outlining what to do. We will bill the on-file credit card, unless you’d rather pay by
cash, PayPal, check or wire transfer—just let us know as soon as we deliver your
invoice.

SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
QUESTION:
How does shipping work?
ANSWER:
We have a team for that. You are also welcome to make other arrangements. Whether
we ship to you, or if you make other arrangements, we include a $14.95 handling fee on
all items ($24.95 for international delivery). Large items may require an additional fee.
Our shipping department sends all items individually by UPS, and only one item per
package, if you won multiple auctions. We’ll send you a tracking number so you can
follow your package all the way to your door. If you’d like to pick your item(s), we’re
located in Culver City, California. Just contact us at info@screenbid.com or call at (310)
287-0100.
QUESTION:
How much does it cost to ship?
ANSWER:
It depends on the size of the item, its weight, and its destination.
QUESTION:
How long does it take to ship?
ANSWER:
Up to six weeks, but we can do rush deliver in case you need to show it off STAT.
QUESTION:
Can you ship to a P.O. box?
ANSWER:
For now, no. Only street addresses, please.
QUESTION:
Can you ship outside the United States?
ANSWER:
Yep. There is a handling charge of $24.95 per item for international shipments, plus
shipping fees (and in case it applies to you, tariffs, import fees or other requirements
imposed by your country’s government). In the event that you refuse to accept a
shipment and the item is returned to ScreenBid, you will be subject to a charge of 25%
of the purchase price of the returned item, plus all shipping shipping charges incurred in
the shipment and return shipment of the item. The balance of the price paid for the item
and related fees will be issued only as a credit to be used against future auctions or
ShopScreenBid purchases.
QUESTION:
Are there other fees?
ANSWER:
There is a 24% buyer’s premium for all winning bids. A 10% buyer’s premium will be
added to all items purchased in the ScreenBid store. A buyer’s premium is a
percentage additional charge on the hammer price (winning bid at auction), or sale
price in the store, of the item that must be paid by the winner. It is charged by the
auctioneer to cover administrative expenses. The buyer’s premium goes directly to
ScreenBid and not to the seller.

PROTECTING YOUR PRIVACY
QUESTION:
Why do you ask for my credit card information before I bid?
ANSWER:
In order to accept your bid, ScreenBid needs to have your credit card information on
file. When you register, we validate your card by placing a 1¢ hold—which is never
transferred to our account—on your card. The hold expires after 30 days.
QUESTION:
Is my credit card information safe?
ANSWER:
We take your privacy seriously. All credit card data is stored in an encrypted format. All
sensitive data, such as credit card information, is transmitted via a secure SSL
connection.
QUESTION:
What’s the difference between ShopScreenBid and ScreenBid auctions?
ANSWER:
The shop contains props from the set that are available to buy right away. The auctions
are for items that can only be bid on.
